I'm sorry yours were messy. I think the key is to leave them on the cookie sheet for 10 minutes after you take them out of the oven. They need to "set up" first.

The Triple chocolate Ghirardelli box I bought from Costco has 6 20oz bags in it.

Karen, I did that. The messy part was trying to roll them in a ball.
