Enough for two,
For the cake:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup water 1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 large egg white
2 Tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
To make the cake")
Heat oven to 350, lightly grease a 5x7 pan (my pan is about 7x7)
Stil flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a medium size bowl and set aside.
In a 1 quart saucepan, heat butter, water and cocoa over medium heat, stir frequently until mixture starts to simmer, butter is melted. remove from heat and pour into flour mixture mixing well,
stir in egg white, milk, cinnamon and vanilla.
Pour into baking dish and bake 25-30 minutes (I baked for 20) test with toothpick when it comes out clean it is done.
Remove and cool
Frosting"
2 Tablespoons butter
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
1 1/2 Tablespoon milk
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
To make frosting:
Melt butter in 1 quart pan over low heat
Add cocoa powder and milk stir until it comes to a simmer
Once the mixture is simmering, remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar a little at a time.
Spoon the warm frosting over the cake and spread with spatula.
A moist cake for sure!!
