Swedish Meatballs

Post by KarenVA »

These are my Mom's recipe--and we make them for all of our parties.

Swedish Meatballs

2 pounds ground beef
seasoning to taste--salt, Montreal Steak Seasoning (or pepper, garlic powder, onion powder), chives
Chopped onions
2 eggs
1 package of Lipton onion soup mix

Sauce
1 package of Lipton onion soup mix
2-3 cups sour cream

Form beef mixture into one inch balls. Place in covered Dutch oven, add seasoning, and simmer on stove top till done. Remove cover and add onion soup mix and sour cream. Simmer and stir occasionally till warmed. Serve as hors d'oeuvres or over mashed potatoes, noodles, or French bread.

We made these, and they are SO good! I did add some chicken broth to the sauce so it would make a little more. Thanks again!
