This is the area that has been the worst. Popping and banging and thread nesting. The thread I am using is Floriani, but for they yellow I will be switching to Madeira. Needle Oregon 12. I don't think I have the right size needle!

Thread starts piling up. Yes, I still need to clean it up.

Is that an area where the design starts and ties off in the same place? Possibly have 3 different threads from the different parts starting and ending in the same spot? IMO, it's poor digitizing, but many do it. Sometimes I pull it off the machine, and trim as much thread as I can underneath. It looks like a good bit of overlapping there. I'd still use the 75/11 needle.
What kind of bobbin thread are you using?

I changed my needle to a 75/11 embroidery needle because I have one! I will remember to trim as much as I can when I come to that area on the next placemat, there was a lot of nesting going on there :o

If you haven't already, slow your machine down.
